Metal fire extinguishers typically involve extremely high temperatures and are difficult to control. Standard liquid fire extinguishing agents cannot be safely used as they may cause an explosion. Chubb’s Class ‘D’ metal fire extinguishers contain a powder extinguishing agent that safely and effectively suppresses fire and prevents re-ignition.
